Created for Avenue of Design at Melbourne’s annual Decor & Design exhibition, The Residence was one of eight individual room settings conceived by invited interior designers. Justin Bishop’s contribution reflected his enduring appreciation for classical interiors, drawing inspiration from the elegant apartments of New York’s Upper East Side and London’s Belgravia.

Classical references, tailored furnishings and carefully layered materials established the character of a sophisticated private residence. Conceived as a fully resolved and genuinely liveable room rather than an isolated exhibition display, the setting felt established, personal and complete.
